We hosted our friendly foes Bohemians Res and had a strong squad full of confidence after our previous win the game before and our win against Bohs earlier in the season when we had a player sent off, so keeping this in mind we went out to play football and hit them early and that’s exactly what we did.

The gaffer Pasco put a marker down early making a crunching tackle winning the ball but making a point to the lads we need to battle. Mcnab was in full flow causing mayhem like usual. Harley and Tom flying down the wings.

Jay, Ridwan and Will winning their battles in the middle of the park, we looked good early and scored in about 5 mins.

AFC 1-0 BOHEMIANS

We continued to press and about 5 mins later 1 of our skippers Jay Callender pulled out a screamer from about 30 yards he hit 1 straight into the top bins.

AFC 2-0 BOHEMIANS

Now we were really starting to flow and Mcnab was just floating past players for fun. He got his 2nd 20mins in with another tidy finish taking on the whole Bohs back line and slotting into the bottom corner.

We continued to press but start to really enjoy ourselves keeping the ball well but speeding it up when needed and this worked a treat as Tom was played through and he smashed the ball home.

AFC 4-0 BOHEMIANS

Bohs never gave up, made a few changes and pushed back. They won a corner and scored from it, their player winning the header but heading the ball downwards towards his foot, it took a deflection off Marcus foot and with Dainty already set to go the other way he couldn’t react quick enough with the ball rolling past him.

Now we were disappointed but this drove us on and we dusted ourselves off and continued to pkay our game. We then hit them just before HT quickly on the counter and Mcnab finished it completing his hatrick.

So HT whistle went and we caught our breath. The gaffer got all subs on and told them to continue to control the game. Now the game is won just go out and enjoy yourself and don’t get your heads down ever.

2nd half started and that’s exactly what we did, we pressed them back keeping the ball well but using it with conviction but Bohs were more settled and stood firm making our jobs harder.

We scored about 15mins into the half. Ball was played through by Mcnab for Tom who himself, Marcus and Harley went 3 on 1 with the GK. Tom cut it to Marcus who slotted into an empty net and that’s the 1st ever goal for the club for our record appearance holder.

Bohs didn’t sit back and pressed us back. They won another corner, sent up the big en aswell as making subs sending on some more and scored from the resulting corner.

Ball crossed in, we won the 1st and 2nd ball but it fell to a Bohs player who poked it home.

LAnd that is how it finished. Bohs had a couple more chances and pinned us back in last 5mins but the game was won in the 1st half.
